Safer Skegness project

We know that safety and security matters to you. That’s why we’re asking local residents to volunteer to join our Community Involvement Group.

Can you help and be part of the solution?

The Safer Lincolnshire Partnership has launched a new community safety project in Skegness. It aims to help reduce crime, tackle anti‑social behaviour and help residents, businesses, and visitors all feel safer in the town.

Why Skegness?

We know that there are many things that people feel are positives about Skegness. But we also know that there are some things that could be better.

We have listened to you when you have said that one of the things most important to you is to feel safe when living and working in Skegness.

In response, we’re making Skegness a priority for action to make improvements in community safety that make a difference, now and into the future. By working closely with the community, local partners, voluntary organisations, businesses, and operational services, we can make sure that together we respond strongly to issues that crop up.

We want to work with you to achieve this by setting up a community involvement group, where you can share your suggestions, to help us to shape our plans.

Improving safety and confidence

By being part of the community involvement group, you can help to:

  • help people feel safer and have more confidence using the town
  • reduce anti-social behaviour and violence in key hotspots, particularly along Lumley Road, the High Street and Public Transport Hub
  • give feedback to front line staff, volunteers and partners to help them to know how to how to respond in a consistent and clear way when someone reports a crime or anti-social behaviour
  • make sure people know about local support services and how to access them
  • improve communication and working together with local businesses
